What Are PBGVs

The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is a French Hound, small in size (ours are 20 to 35 pounds), rough coated (virtually non-shedding), and very happy and fun loving.... They were originally bred to hunt rabbits in packs, which means that they will wander off, following their nose, if allowed to, so must be kept secure. They are also very social pets (remember the 'pack' part) and love people and other pets. "Betty"(above) loves her feline friends, but PBGVs must be introduced to cats at a very young age! Petits are high energy dogs that love to be a part of the family. The PBGV makes a wonderful family companion or, for the show enthusiast, a happy competitor...we have produced many top winning show dogs with the help of some PBGVs we acquired when we started going to France in 1997. It is important to breed for sound healthy dogs that exemplify the breed standard and to stand behind all your dogs. We do that here at POLYGOR!
