   Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen

A larger French hunting hound, also bred to hunt in packs. Not yet recognized with the AKC, this is a rare breed in the USA, although they are shown in many other countries, including all the European countries. In 2004 we were very fortunate to import puppies from the world famous van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes: the Huikeshoven Family. They have been striving to produce top quality happy healthy Grands, and we will hope to do so as well.

Available to good homes:

TRAMP, a 4 year old male, is available to a special forever home--- he is a sweet funny dog, with a BIG personality-- he thinks that the world exists for his amusement!!
 He would be a good dog for knowledgeable 'doggy' people, and would make a great obedience/agility/rally dog. He is full of energy and needs someone who can help him channel that energy, and definitely needs someone who is interested in taking him places, because he has lots of energy! Tramp will be 4 years old and the end of June 2008, and needs to be neutered. Tramp would be a good companion with another dog, but only a female, because he doesn't share his space well with other male dogs, as he thinks he is the top dog!

Elliott is also available to a forever home. Elliott is sweet...sweet...sweet. He is the kind of dog who does not always need to be in the limelight. He is also very funny and has lots of personality. He would be a good dog for a quieter home, and is not so 'full of himself'! He would be a good companion for a female dog, and he needs to be neutered.

We are about to welcome another litter of GBGVs here at Polygor. The number of litters whelped in the United States of this wonderful breed is still less than a dozen!

 We have puppies due from Viva, who was bred to Nobby. Viva is a Dutch girl, bred and born in Holland by the World famous Huikeshoven family,
Van Tum-Tum's Vriendjes GBGVs.  Nobby is a French man, bred and born in France, the country of origin of the Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen.

 Both adults have had their health clearances done.
